Turn on voice typing?

Been using PC speech recognition forever.

On my new Android 10 phone...

How to enable the virtual keyboard microphone? Maybe I disabled something.

Google voice typing > Automatic

The microphone is not showing.

I changed the keyboard so that the numbers show on top and it is more compact,
but now I don't know where that setting is. I'm hoping it's a lead for the
voice input, but not finding that setting again.

I also changed the smiley face settings. Not sure where that is now either.
